Princess Tea Party
We are so excited to share this Princess Tea Party we had to celebrate our darling birthday girl! This was such a fun party to put together and the birthday girl still talks about it! We will be sharing all the DIY details for how to create your own tea party in the comfort of your home or yard. We will also be sharing all the activities with these FREE PRINTABLES in the next post.
THE TENT SETUP:
We wanted a cozy tea party feel so we thought it would be fun to have it in some type of tent. We used a tent like this that we already had and enclosed the sides with long strands of pink and white tulle. On one of the sides we draped this Disney Princess Backdrop and also used this Happy Birthday sign. It created an ethereal atmosphere and was very enchanting for the girls to be having a party with these life size princesses. It definitely was received well by the party girl and her guests. We finished the outside of the tent decor with a balloon arch in pink, purple, and white shades. If you missed our DIY balloon arch tutorial, you can find it HERE!. We think balloon arches are a simple way to add a little extra to any party!
On the inside of the tent, we wrapped some greenery around the bars and added a golden chandelier like this one. We also think this gold chandelier is pretty. We also added these hot pink flower pom poms to the greenery to add to the details.
THE TABLE and CHAIRS SETUP:
We found this beautiful shimmery pink/gold tablecloth to put on the table, but unfortunately I can’t find it again to link it, sorry!
We had white slipcovers and added the extra detail of wrapping the leftover tulle around the chairs in a bow. The girls thought this was a very fancy detail!
THE TABLESCAPE:
Now, for the tablescape and the place settings! We love how this turned out. We were envisioning princess, pink, gold, and royal…anything to make it seem like you were at a fancy tea party! We lined the center of the table with these gold placemats. We used pieces of this gold set for the candles to bring height to the table. We have been loving this gold set and have used it for a variety of parties, get togethers, and events.
We had previously purchased these red cupcake stands from the Target dollar spot and they were perfect for individual cupcakes for each girl. These cupcake stands would be a similar look, but different color and disposable option.
These flowers were a fun addition to the table and very easy to make plus cost effective. We went to the dollar store and bought the vase, some shredded paper, and a variety of fake flowers. We then arranged them and had them as part of our tablescape. We initially like the idea of having the girls make their own flower arrangements and send them home, but decided on this instead.
In the center of the table, we placed the little desserts that we served for the tea party. We displayed them on this tiered cupcake stand, which is another one of our party favorites. It really is so versatile and can be used for any event. We decided to serve pink and white animal crackers, bite-sized rice krispies, chocolate chip cookies, and white donuts.
THE PLACE SETTINGS:
This was every girls favorite part. They absolutely loved that we were really going to eat and drink at our tea party; it wasn’t going to be pretend! We searched and searched for the perfect tea set that was age appropriate and would work and finally found one that was awesome! This tea party set worked perfectly for our age group as it was able to hold the pink lemonade we served, but was plastic so we weren’t concerned about anything breaking. Best part is we just washed it out and now the birthday girl uses it for more tea parties! We also served sugar cubes on the side and they really did just LOVE IT!
We used Disney Princess placemats and these Disney Princess plates.
Lastly, wanted to share this cute Disney Princess cake. We had ordered this cake topper that is so adorable and comes with 3 princesses. Then we went to our local grocery store and ordered their standard Disney cake, which came with 3 other princesses. It turned out perfect and the birthday girl still plays with the castle topper and princesses.
There you have it, a Princess Tea Party fit for any darling little princess in your life!! We hope you get some ideas from this post and look for the free printables in the next post with the activities. You can find more ideas for parties @inspired2party on instagram.
