Harry Potter Birthday Party…Part 1!

The Invitations:

We hosted a Harry Potter themed birthday party this past month and it was a hit!  These invitations were adorable and we finished off the final touches with these envelopes and red stickers!

To deliver to the party guests, we tied the invitation to the owl balloons in this Harry Potter decor package. They turned out absolutely adorable and are definitely our favorite invitation delivery thus far! Try it, your party guests will love it!

The Decor:

The decorations were whimsical and magical, so fun to transform the house into Hogwarts!  We went with a black and off-white color scheme with a pop of gold for the tablescape.  We lined the center with fake candles, black pom poms, and then placed tiny spiders on the candles. The table was framed with these happy birthday banner backdrops.  In between the banners are black tissue paper pom poms. Lastly, these amazing floating candles hanging above the table! We hung them with fishing line and they were definitely magical!  They will be reused in many parties (Halloween, etc) in years to comes, a great investment!  Make sure you use a heavy fishing line so it doesnt break when you hang the candles.

The individual place settings were just as fabulous and the perfect spot for dinner and potions class!  We started with gold charger plates and added these disposable frenchie metallic striped plates from Kedziefest Parties. The Spellbound Envelope napkins were also from Kedziefest parties and can be found here.

We were lucky to have a fireplace so of course, we decorated with the envelopes coming out of it, such a cool effect!  We used these envelopes and red stickers again and hung them with fishing line.

We used the top of the fireplace as the Hogwarts owlery!  We placed our owl pinata, stuffed animal owls like this one and this small one, and used this adorable spellbound owl banner to complete the look. Adding in candles, small black trees, and those tiny spiders were perfect details!

Of course, we needed a photo backdrop spot to take pictures of our cute witches and wizards!  This adorable spot was made with this beautiful ballon arch kit. The colors of the balloons were gorgeous and the balloons were an ease to blow up with our balloon buddy. The backdrop was made by alternating the black and gold fringe found here. On top of the fringe, we placed this happy birthday banner and lightning bolt banner.  On the sides to complete the look are black and gold foil paper fans!

We love, love, love how the photo backdrop turned out, it was the perfect spot  to take a picture of each wizard and wizard holding this “Have you seen this wizard” poster!   Harry Potter nightgown  and Harry Potter cape linked here, but make sure to grab the correct size!  Harry Potter Party

Other details around the room included Mrs. Norris (the cat), the wands, the potions, the Harry potter scarf, the Harry Potter book set and the sorting hat.

The Cake:

We love to order plain cakes from Costco, Sams Club, or any other grocery store.  We then decorate them with our theme and how we envision it.  We placed our small cake and cupcakes on this this noir and gold cupcake stand and placed these cupcake and cake toppers.  Final detail included these Harry Potter glasses that we gave each guest!

We served the cake with a classic Harry Potter drink, Butterbeer!  We used the butterbeer recipe found here. Use fancy plastic cups, some fun striped straws, and some sprinkles to make it even more special!
