Mermaid Party with FREE PRINTABLES
This mermaid party was so much fun and the birthday girl and her adorable guests loved it! We hope you find some ideas that can help you create something just as special.
The Invitation:
For this invitation, we worked with Cristina from her iQuickly Etsy shop. We loved that the invitation was so colorful and had front and back sides. You can order the invitation here. You then are able to customize it, print it or send it electronically to your guests. It’s adorable!
The Decor:
The decor for this party was so fun and such a snap to put together with the items we found.
- First we found this amazing mermaid balloon garland kit. We usually make our balloon garlands from scratch, but decided to order this kit and it did not disappoint! There were a variety of balloons and they were the cutest colors! Not to mention the mermaid tail balloons! For the price and stunning presentation, it was an excellent buy!
- We then added this foil fringe in the aquamarine color and it was a hit! Not only did it look beautiful like shimmering water, but the little guests thought it was so much fun to go in and out of. We actually ordered 2 sets and hung another one on a door that people passed through and no joke, the kids ran through it all night giggling and laughing. Such a fun idea!
- The tablscape was from this mermaid decor and supplies kit. This kit served 16 guests and included everything from the tablcloth, napkins, plates, cups, cutlery, happy birthday sign, and the net on the table. We then filled the table with items we already owned such as beaded necklaces, seashells, large conch shell, and vases filled with sand.
The Activities:
The activities to entertain little guests are always so much fun to create! We decided to put together a mermaid Treasure hunt that you can find here for this specific party.
- The kids were delivered the map after they were done eating and were excited to go on a treasure hunt. Along the path, there were landmarks where they had to complete an activity or find something at that location. The kids were collecting items to put together a pearl necklace at the end of the treasure hunt.
- The final treasure was located where the red X is on the map.
- Sidenote: We had designed the map to do outside, but it was bad weather the day of the party so we easily altered it to things they could find inside; for example: a sitting area for patio seats, playroom for swingset, etc
- Our landmarks for activities included:
- Finding silver snake chains. (Pictured below with pearl cage)
- Locating starfish pearl cages. They also have other pearl cage designs such as flowers, palm trees, skulls, etc, but we thought starfish went with the mermaid party.
- Picking out an oyster from the water beads
- Playing freeze dance. Kids love to dance to this song, it tells them exactly what to do. You can find the freeze dance song here.
- Playing the jumbo matching game is always a crowd favorite for little ones. Find the FREE MATCHING PRINTABLE HERE. You need to print the match twice. There are so many here that you can pick which ones you want. If you want a design on one side, pick one of the pictures and have it print on the back of all matches.
The Favor:
The last clue on the treasure hunt led them to a pirate chest that had the favors. We used the thank you tags found here from the iQuickly Etsy shop and attached them to a treat bag.
- Inside, we filled it with blue metallic crinkle paper and:
However, the best part of the favor for everyone was when they put together their pearl necklace with the items they found on their treasure hunt!
The kids actually cracked open the oysters they picked, which revealed different color pearls for each kid! Everyone loved the anticipation of which color they were going to get. They then took their pearls, put them in their starfish pearl cages, and looped them onto their silver chains. Every single little guest happily put their new pearl necklaces on and talked about this the entire time they ate cake! It was PERFECT!!
