Graduation Gift Ideas with FREE PRINTABLES!

What a wild school year 2020-2021 was…can you believe it is time for GRADUATION?!?!  We wanted to share a graduation gift idea that we have used over and over because you can make it specific to the graduate and everyone loves the personal, thoughtful nature of the gift.

We love to give a bag full of items to the new graduate that signify the sweet ending that a graduation represents, but celebrate the new beginning of their future!

Graduation gift ideas

1. First, you need to know your graduate!

  • Are they graduating from preschool and moving on to kindergarten?  Graduating high school and going to college or into the work field?  Graduating and getting ready to travel the world? Are they graduating college and moving onto their profession?
  • What are their interests? Do they love reading, the gym, sports, legos, books, traveling, etc.

2. Brainstorm your gift:

  • This is the fun part!  This is where you decide what you want to include in your gift and why.  We love to give practical and useful things that they will use in their near future, but 1-2 good gag gifts are always appreciated.
  • We created these lists of items that we think a current graduate would appreciate in the year of 2021:

3. Assemble your gift and use these these FREE PRINTABLES for finishing touches:

  • We compile the gifts (you can individually wrap them if you prefer) and attach a note to each item telling them why we think they need it or why we think it will be purposeful.  Sticky notes or index cards wth tape work great.
    • Some examples:
      • If we were giving the Scratch off World map, we would attach a note saying something like “We can’t wait to see you chase your dreams and travel the world.”
      • If we had the UNO game in our bag, we might say “We know how much you love this game and now will be able to have fun playing it with your roommates.”
      • If we were giving a 2021 pocket watch, we would say something like “This watch is to help you get to classes on time in college.”
      • We have seen some people give the Oh, The Places You’ll Go book as a preschool graduation present and then have all their teachers sign it until they graduate high school.
  • Place all of the items inside the bag.
  • TIP: if the gift is large or costly, think about other items that they would love such as their favorite candy bar, gum, or chapstick/lipstick.
  • Attach one of these FREE PRINTABLES and add the scroll to the bag.  The scroll has the year they graduated on it.  You can leave it blank or write a letter to your graduate and then wrap a ribbon around it.

Now you have a very personalized and thoughtful gift that your graduate will appreciate as they start their new adventure, whatever that entails!

CONGRATULATIONS GRADUATES!!
