Milk and Cookies/Christmas Sweater Party
“No matter the weather,
Bring an old sweater
To show off your holiday cheer”
We hosted a milk and cookies party this week. We combined it with decorating Christmas sweaters and it was the best time! We decided we wanted it to be a girls night so we sent out the invites (pictured below) and the party started to evolve. Today, we are sharing 5 tips to inspire you to host your own cookies and milk party!
Tip #1: Add a touch of color that matches your party to any of your cookies. We added green and red M&Ms to our chocolate chip cookies to add a little holiday fun! We also used the peppermint Hershey kisses for the red and white color as opposed to a regular Hershey’s kiss. Other items that we used to add some festivity in the cookies were green and red gum drops, crushed up candy canes, and cookies in the star and gingerbread man shapes. There are so many different colors of candy, sprinkles, and food items that can be utilized for any cookies and milk party!

Tip #2: Think about the small details that add to your decor and party. We used things we had around our houses for this display and it turned out so cute! One of our favorite details were the metal cookie cutters we tied to the garland and tree with twine. SO easy and simple, but it gives that extra touch to the party!

Tip #3: Dress up your drink dispensers with a little something. We decided to use a thick red bow on the milk and chocolate milk and love the look it created. We love this particular glass dispenser because it came with a skull base that we use for all of our Halloween parties, but you can use the dispenser without the base and dress it up for any party!

Another favorite thing that we have utilized in many parties are these glass milk jars! Such a great item to have for so many occasions and all you have to do is switch the color of the straw or add a little something to the bottle and it changes the whole look.

Tip #4: Think about varying the heights of items in your display. We wanted the little tree to be higher in the back so we found this little gold box that normally stores dress-ups and it worked perfectly. Be creative, look around your house, and see what you can utilize.
These cookies were so delicious and the first to go! They were the December flavors from Cheeky Rascal Cookies including:
Candy Cane Crush (double chocolate peppermint chunk cookie with a peppermint chocolate, hot fudge center). Pictured top left
Almond Cranny Granny (white chocolate cranberry cookie with an almond, white chocolate, hot fudge center). Pictured bottom
Salted Caramel Prima Donna (a chocolate chip cookie with a gooey, salted caramel center). Pictured top right
These cookies came individually packaged and would be perfect for neighbor gifts or party favors. Check the website for more amazing flavors and to order some for your next party at cheekyrascalcookies.com
Everyone brought a sweater and anything they wanted to decorate their own sweater with. We ended up sharing everything and we had tinsel everywhere! We provided scissors, hot glue sticks, and the hot glue guns.
Tip #5: Make sure you have plenty of scissors and hot glue guns with glue sticks! It takes a lot to craft these beauties!! It was so fun to see everyone’s different creativity and ideas come to life.
We did find these sweater cookies that everyone decorated before we decorated our actual sweaters. After the party, everyone went home in their new sweater and took home a box of cookies!
We hope that these tips and pictures will inspire you to host your own cookies and milk party and/or a Christmas sweater decorating party. It was such a fun night and an easy way to have a lot of fun with friends and/or family! Find more ideas and pictures at our instagram @inspired2party
